I like the idea of an enchanted winter forest. Pine cones dusted with glitter. Soft golden light. A place where something magical could happen.
Since our bedroom has a lot of soft greens and brown, that tends to be the way that I go for decorating for Christmas there. Not very traditional, but pretty.
The dish above is a vintage butter dish. I just need to add some "snow" to those pine cones and velvet leaves. And perhaps some crystals from the bird cage.
Here's a little brighter view. Don't ya like my moose's? Gah. I've forgotten, what is the plural for moose?
Tree in golds and greens with birds tucked in here and there. Very high, up out of the reach of the "furry toddlers".
Little houses in somber shades of greens and browns.
It needs a wee bit more greenery and a few more touches. I just have to be careful what I put out, cause there is one very naughty kitty that lives here. We don't call him "Hoover" for nothing.
Happy Monday.
PS...I forgot to tell ya! While no one got it absolutely right....you were all oh-so-close! The title of the red book is The Nympho and Other Maniacs by Irving Wallace! LOL. Nice for a holiday huh? Maybe better suited for Valentines.
meeses? LOL...just kidding...those are cute though...your tree looks really pretty...i hope none of your kitties are climbers, those birds might not be so safe after all...i like your little houses, i wanted to spruce up a few more this year, but i just ran out of time...my wedding cake topper arrived yesterday, and i LOVE it!!! thanks:)

Pretty! To avoid pluralizing "moose"...I like your moose. And the other one too! Your tree is a work of art! ~ Angela

Ooooooh Cindy, your bedroom Christmas decor is super-gorgeous!!! Just what I love, and your "Meese". Very woodsy, and "dark"! Christmas hasn't made it as far as the bedroom here! You are inspiring me for a little something for there.
big hugs,
Debra

stands to reason if the plural of goose is geese, then the plural of moose must be meese...hee hee.
Cute vignettes! Merry Moosemess

Ha ha ha ha ha!! Great book! I think moose in the plural is Meese.
Your house is the BEST!!
I shouldn't ask, but do you still have the paper weights? as in both?

Hi Cindy! You make Christmas especially sparkley and it's such a a treat to swing by for a visit. Wish you could wave your magic wand and transform my place! I love your very handy dandy special snow "how to" too! You're so clever. Well, avoid the grumps and know you make Christmas prettier for lots of us. Hope you have a blissful holiday with your family and friends!

Oh, I know, I know!!! Because we learned it this week in the 4th grade classroom I work in. Moose follows the irregular plural rule. The plural for moose is-moose! I love relearning all that kind of stuff. Plurals are confusing with all the rules. But our music teacher pointed out today that's what's great about the rules in music-they never change. BTW, I have the same bird you have on your tree-I used it several years on the basket for my front door during the winter months. Have a good one!
