I'm so ready for Fall

Seriously.  I hate hot-weather.  I know, I know.  I'm a "lived here all my life Texan" and the heat still gets to me.  By mid-August I'm ready to scream.  This year my seasonal screaming appears to be starting earlier.  Yep, I'm dreaming of cold weather, cozy sweaters and pumpkin latte's.  *sigh*

 

But until then, I'll just keep playing with little thoughts of Fall. 

 

But what I will really miss most this year...

 

Not getting my fall issue of this. 

I always looked forward to my Fall Issue of MEHC.  Kinda like getting school supplies when I was little.  Or the Sept issue of "Seventeen" when I was a teen-ager. 

Oh Well, such is life. 

But, one thing I will look forward to is this, Fall Mini Paper Cowgirl!  Come join us for a great day of creativity, crowns, wristlets and beeswax!  Not to mention a great lunch by The Dove's Nest.  Its going to be super fun and we would love to have you be apart of it.  In the Fall.  *sigh*

Fairy Fun

I had mentioned, last week,  that I was getting together with my friend Angela for a lesson on creating fairies.  And well, as promised, here are the pics of the finished creations.   

 

Angela is so very sweet and she generously offered tons of supplies, images and goodies (see that cute little birdie little missy is riding).  There is something about gathering with like-minded hearts to create, it never fails to refresh my spirit.  Lots of laughter and giggling rang through out the evening, as scissors cut and colors flew.  Wings made of roses were delightful.  It was so much fun.

 

We were even accused of disrupting a class!  Sorry Tee!  But it was all in good fun. 

 

And now, I have a couple of new fairies flitting around the studio, peeking here and there.  Yep, give a gal a fairy and she's delighted.  But teach her to make em, and well, you've probably created a fairy making monster.  LOL.  Ad my mind is running amok with all kinds of little, cut-out ideas.

But not to worry...there are other things going on in the Studio as well.  Wait till I show you what I made with this.

Wrapping Ribbon

When I get an order for ribbon, I hate to just stuff it in a cello bag.

 

Too me, it should go on a fun tag of some sort.

New Goods on Etsy

Well, the Studio Party has been a blast and I'm (always late as usual), still making the rounds.  Everyone has some amazing spaces that they create it, that's for sure.  So, while I still "party", here's something else going on in the Studio.

I've spent the last few days loading up my Etsy shop.

 

There's hand-painted goods.  New ribbons.  A bit of the odd, vintage thing here and there and a sale on some old goods.  So take a peek if ya like.  Fall ribbons are on the way.

Welcome to my Studio Party!

Karen at My Desert Cottage is having a party today.  In the vein of the "Where Women Create" magazine, she has invited bloggers to show off just where "the magic happens".  

I'm glad to show off my special little spot. 

The Studio once was, and still is to a degree, our guest bedroom.  But still, I have made it a space that is near and dear to my heart.  So come on, I'll give ya a quick tour.  I'm glad its clean today. 

 

Mr. Bunny Head watches over all things being created.

 

Stamps, markers and ribbon close at hand.

 

Looking up as I work provides great inspiration.

 

My little work desk.  And look, when clean, there is actually more than 2" of workspace there.  And I need to skirt that table in the worse way. 

 

The clock wears Mickey Ears!

 

The inspiration board filled up fast.  And if extra light is needed on a cloudy day, I just plug in the Chandi.

 

Collecting vintage ink bottles has become a new passion.

 

And it is still really the guest bedroom. 

 

Bins hold paint and supplies.  And yet, another inspiration board to the right of it.

 

Jar of Stickles.  I do love "sparkly".

 

The room may appear to be clean, but in reality, its really just organized chaos.

 

But regardless, there is no place like home, except maybe "the Studio".

Wee Fairy Fouf

I finally got around to re-arranging the Studio and getting all my "pretties" in one area above the desk.  Now I can look up and be inspired.  I love it, bright, happy and fun.

C'mon...a little closer.  See there!  Tucked in here and there.

Are they not adorable?  Angela (who at this point is blogless, but a fact that I hope she will remedy soon) is coming over to teach me how to make these little cuties. 

I bought these from her at the Vendor Show at Paper Cowgirl.  I hope she will get a blog soon, she is super talented and witty and funny to boot. 

And I can hardly wait to learn to make these sweet, wee, fairies.

And her never ending kindness and generosity, I had meant to show off this way before now.  (And no, I'm not just sucking up cause she soldered ALL of my houses, all nine of em). 

It's one of those cool, flower, coffee filter banners that I kept seeing.  I love it.

And I think it looks really awesome in the Studio.  Thank ya Missy Tee.

Finally!

Yes.  My name has been mud.  Is mud.  Is mud right now.  And will continue to be until everyone gets these little bundles into their hands.

*sigh* I can only hang my head in shame and say that my fears got the best of me.  The art part was easy...the soldering....ewwwwwww, not so much.  And that was the fear that kept me from moving forward on Tee's Glass House Swap.

That was SUPPOSED to be completed back in March.  See...I told you, my name is Em. You. Dee. 

But Tee took pity on me (or, she was just aggravated over the draggin of my feet) and soldered em for me when she was here a few weeks ago.   Yep, insert my big, cheesy grin here. 

So these little devils went out in the mail today.  YAY!  I'm so happy.  And I know my, long-awaiting, swap house partners will be happy too.

Here is the little "neighborhood" that I've already accumulated from those that were prompt.    Cool huh?  And see the one to the right there?  Well that's miss Stevie Nicks Cuteness herself, Dale, at Sea Dream Studio.  And why, you may ask, is her's still in its package?  Cause it is so dang cute that I just don't have the heart to undo it.  Sad.  I know.  I think you can find her unwrapped soldered house on her Flickr.

So to my swappee's I apologize profusely and say, the "house" is in the mail.

Monday, monday!

Oh my gosh...it's a Monday.  And while I have finally gotten over my Propofol (yes, THAT drug was my anesthesia) induced state of "stupid" (ah Sis, be kind), it still boils down to being a typical Monday.  Seems like the faster I've moved today, the behinder I've gotten.

But I did get a chance to play in the Studio for just a bit and in between waiting for things to dry and packages being wrapped to mail, I did make this little tag.

I really have not made the time to play extensively with the Tim Holtz inks and yet, when I do, I'm always pleased with the results.

LOVE the bird cage stamp.  Got it offa Etsy.  It was from Olive Rue .  The same great shop that I got all those cute little chalkboard tags from.
