Finally here. And before I head out to get another bag of candy (to replace one of the ones "we" have already eaten), set out the luminaries, and hang the pumpkin tins, I thought I would show you what has captivated my time this week.
I could not stand it. I wanted to make one more little book for Halloween. And wouldn't you know it...I fell into that little weird space, where it took waaaaaay longer than I expected, to finish. I think Karin at Creative Chaos called it "art dog years" or something like that. LOL. You know...you think it will be one hour and it turns out to be seven. That's me in a nutshell.
Anyway. Here's my little book.
Schizo is the best way to describe it. It's a mix of cute, scary, vintage, different papers...who knows. I tried to push out of my comfort zone a little. (click on any pic to make larger).
Loved this small page on the right. It's actually a tag, that I just cut down and used for a page by itself. And while (the book overall) is not as vintage and I strived for, I was pretty happy.
So happy, that in fact, I think I'm going to keep it. LOL.
Like I said...I mixed papers. Even using a piece that was originally for a calendar project. The cat at the top (of the left hand page) is actually a tag that can be removed and written on. The old watch face (ack! it's midnight!), LOL, and he poison sticker are vintage things.
Was so happy with these two pages. Pics or memento's can be tucked under the little pumpkin (on the right) or under the "H" (on the left). And see that tiny tag above the bat...
go ahead, pull it...
And how do you know I'm batty about you?...
Because you can pull this little tag out of the top of the pocket...
...and list the reasons on the back of it. Yeah...THERE'S that reason for the "art/dog/year/hole" that I fell into...riggin this page up. So a photo can sit behind the punkin as well. See?
These were fun too! Specially the little tag page...that swings..reminds me of a saloon door. LOL.
Heres' the back of that page. And lookie at the spider...
She was actually a ring, that Sis had tossed into my scrap bucket last time we were together. I stole a page out of Dee Dee's book (well, not literally) and cut off the "ring" part and decided to use that pretty spider here. (Kinda like Dee Dee did with the wand).
Loved this "ribbon". Got it at a wholesale place up in Dallas (that is sadly, no longer there). It's almost like licorice in feel. Thought it was too much fun.
This little tag (on the front) echos the spider theme on the back page. You can't see it but she has a tiny bit of red glitter on her back.
Well, that's my little Halloween book. Hope you have a fun day today and get lots of candy tonight and maybe even a scare! Not enough to need the "depends" scare...but just a little shiver up the spine or two!
I'm off to light the luminaries and eat, er uhm, pass out the little candy bars!
Happy Halloween!
Your Halloween book is amazing, so much work and I'm glad to have had a peak at it! My favorite part is the pull out on the pumpkin that says "I'm Batty for you!"
Happy Halloween to you too!

The book turned out really cute! So many little touches. I think I'm going to hide inside with the porch light off and pray that no one TPs or eggs my house. :)

Cindy - it's fabulous. I really think it's my favorite of all your work. :) I got that same spidey from Sherri, but a certain toddler claimed it before I could use it. :)
