and into the kitchen.
When I first started my blog, I envisioned writing posts that encompassed not only my creative efforts in the studio, but things outside the studio that I thought others might find interesting as well. Things around town, my home, etc. I'm quiet delighted because having the new camera will now allow me to better explore that aspect of the blog. So, with that thought in mind, as Monty Python used to say, "now for something completely different".
First you have to understand, I am a cinnamon toast freak. yep. Love the stuff. I love to have cinny toast for breakfast with my White Choc decaf coffee. And this morning, rats!, we are out of white bread. We have wheat bread, dinner rolls and hot dog buns, but no white bread. I don't care for cinnamon toast on wheat. It's just not right. But wait, hold the phone, we have hot dog buns. Hey, it's just like white bread. Just a little thicker. I'm thinking hmmmm, it could work. It could work.
And hey! It did! A little butter, some sugar, a generous amount of cinnamon and viola, it's breakfast. Cinny hot dog buns? Cinny buns? Sweet Cinny Dog Buns. Well that does not sound right, but let's taste while it's hot.
And it's very tasty. Hmmmm, could end up being my new favorite way to prepare Cinnamon Toast. (Holy cow, do I need a manni or what and hello! lotion...a good thing....but I digress!).
Well, I had to share this bit of gourmet discovery with someone. So I called Sis and as usual she's one step ahead of me. She says it makes great garlic bread toast. Who knew! So we shared the wonderful culinary delights of hot dog buns (imagine the possibilities) and simultaneously surfed the net, shooting emails back and forth and being totally silly, it felt good to smile a little again. (Check out Sherri's blog for more thoughts on cinnamon usage). And dear CB, I can hear ya groaning. But really, did you expect any less from a girl that loves Pop Tarts and Deviled Ham? Ok, not together, that would be gross. But yeah, the taste buds of a three year old...that's me.
As I said the other day, walking with friends in the dark. Thanks Sis. I needed a good case of the sillies and some great cinnamon toast.
Yep, they are good for more than just hot dogs..lol..Love cinny toast too!!!!! And left over pie crust with cin/sug now that's a wonderful treat my Mamaw made for me while growing up ;)
