I've said it before, I love a good challenge. And Lilybean Paperie always has a great one. For the end of October she had a new one. The challenge was to make a holiday greeting card incorporating chipboard, rubons, buttons, glitter, ribbon and polka dots. Here's my first try:
And while I was pretty happy with it....oops! I forgot the chipboard. And glitter. OK, so lets try for number 2, which happens to be my favorite one anyway:
I love this one. This is my fav. Maybe just I'm so into black right now for Christmas. And red! Give me red anytime, anyplace. The image of Santa and the sleigh is actually from an old post card and loved the chip board ampersand.
While we are thinking Christmas, particularly Christmas in red, here are a few more shots of the store. This is our little "Cottage Christmas" area. I love it. I love vintage look, especially for Christmas. Reminds me of my childhood I guess.
Here's another:
Don't you love it? My favs are the HO HO HO pillows. Believe me, many jokes have been made about the single HO on each pillow...need I say more.
Several of the items in this area are the real deal vintage. One of the ladies at the store has the uncanny ability to locates tons of vintage stuff each year and then she brings it all in for sale. Lots of neat things.
Well, just wanted to post the cards before Lilybean's deadline. Plus taking advantage of the extra hour tonight....I love it.
Hope you're having a great weekend.
