Finally. Cold weather. And not just a "cool" front, that means the temp will drop from 98 degrees to 87 degrees. But a real bona fide cold front, the first of the season. Every cell in body is jumping for joy. And they are all thinking hot cider, pumpkin bread and stew. It is windy, rainy and a gorgeous 50 degrees. I love it. Course, it will be a short-lived joy. Its supposed to be back in the upper 80's by Saturday. Such is the weather in Texas. Schizophrenic.
And that's how I always feel this time of year....kinda schizophrenic. Everyone else is thinking of Halloween and buying Halloween and my mind and body is racing toward Christmas. Because where I work, we've been thinking of Christmas for quite awhile now. I've been making Christmas things and thinking Christmas things and then it always jars me a little to see Halloween candy in the store. See...schizo. Ah, but that's just me...or "us" as the case may be.
Here's a little peek of what I have been working on last week. I was so inspired by Elizabeth Maxson, and her New Nostalgia piece in the November issue of Romantic Homes mag, that I decided to do a black, cream, white, and silver Christmas. I want it to be tarnished and elegant and sophisticated. Not morbid. We shall see. I'll try and post pics later this week. Our town is getting ready for a huge event his weekend, so it will be a fun week of trying to get our booth and the store ready for Saturday.
Happy Monday to ya.
Happy, happy Monday to you too, Cindy Mae!
whoo Hooo, it's cold outside!

i love your Christmas color scheme idea, it sounds heavenly!!
you think Texas weather is schizo? our motto in Ohio is "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes" our weather has been nuts :)

Cindy,
Nice to meet ya! i just read all your posts and love your blog. I was in the s & s swap too and your goodies were awesome! You should not feel bad at all.
Your hankie card idea was cool too and I also love junking and crafting.
I am up here in Canada, so can't relate too much to the 87 degrees -today it is a nice 59! Only gonna get worse too - blech.
I don't get any kids here for Halloween - does that mean I'm not supposed to get the candy?

Got to agree with you Black White and Silver is a very classy or adult version of Christmas, can't wait to see what other creative things you come up with on the theme.
