Whoo Hoo! A New Magazine!

Have you seen this?

 

I'm so excited!  Finally!  Someone is putting OUT a magazine, as opposed to the other way around.  And they have a blog too.  And look at the names involved...very impressive.  Matthew Mead, Ki Nassauer just to drop a few.  It is set to be released in the Spring of 2010.  Looks like a good read indeed. 

I can hardly wait for this to hit the stands.  From the looks of it, it's going to be one of my new top faves.  Now, if Mary would just put out a new mag.  Well, I'll have to be content that she has a new blog!  For now, that brings a smile to my face! 

Old, yet seemingly new mag

Magazines.  And cleaning.  Cleaning out magazines.  Which seem to pile up.  While clearing out (in an attempt to get organized) in the studio the other day.  I ran across these.

Pretty huh?

The cover's still look fairly fresh and relevant for a magazine that is sixteen years old now.  But look at the price...$3.95!  Yeah, that's a dead give-away that it is not current.  Since most are about $5.95 or more now days.

It's a shame it did not make a go of it.  I have about six issues.  Most of much of the contents seems still pretty fresh.  I think Mary was ahead of her time.  I'm still missing Country Home.  Matthew Mead was in here as well.

An inspiration board before they were hot.  The text says, "People have a desire for a country style that's informal yet full of charm and character."  I think that is still true today. 

So.  I think I will tuck these back into their special spot again.  Along with my bazillion Victoria's and MEHC's.  Which I just came seem to bear to toss either of those yet.  So fun to go back and look through for inspiration and dreaming.  Hope you enjoyed a little peek of mag's past.

Sweet, but Contagious!

That seems to be  the status of those kisses I received last week from Sweet Hub.  And nope, not the chocolate kind either. 

So today finds me up to my sore throat in tea and tissues.  And doesn't tea just taste better in a Cath Kidston mug?  I think so. 

But at least I've got great reading material to keep my happy, in between cough syrup induced shut-eye and sips of Lemon Zinger. 

These two are amazing!  Just breath-takingly amazing.  So much inspiration and eye candy.  I just can't stop gushing.  No wait, that's my nose running. 

But seriously, these just make me want to try harder, to achieve the loveliness that adorns these pages.  Somerset always does a top job.  And with fewer and fewer eye candy mags now, it is so great to have them doing all that they do.

So, I'm going to toddle back to bed, there are fur babies there, to keep my feet warm.  Hope you are warm where you are.

Oui! It's Pink Saturday!

And this issue of the French Marie Claire Idees was perfect for Pink Saturday!   Does'nt the above just take your breath away?  Such a beautiful image.  So simple and sweet!

And this?  Love the little packages!  *sigh* To be able to read French would be wonderful!   But the eye candy, is pretty tasty!  And that is exactly why I got this mag.  Wonderful eye candy.

OK, not sure what is in those shoes (see previous statement on non-ability to read French).  But are those shoes not just the cutest? 

This is one of my fave mags and I have enjoyed having the subscription (it was a gift) so much.  This has been the best issue all year.  I was thrilled when it showed up unexpectedly last week.

If you can find it on your newstand, take a peek.  If you love it, make a little Christmas giftie to you!
