Was not so bad! As everyone truly said, the "prep" was the worse and that was tolerable. Not having to do the "Go Lightly" (which is an understatement) and going with the Gatorade MiaraLAX combo was actually really easy. 'Cept you are right Phyllis...oh, that last cup full is hard to take regardless.
I was gonna be a wise-acre and say I knew how Dumbledore felt as Harry made him drink those last few cups of potion out of the basin in the cave....LOL. And the movie BTW was excellent. Want to see it again. While not totally true to the book, was a great movie on its own regardless.
As for the "procedure" itself, piece of cake. I'm such a lightweight (one dear friend has great reason for calling me "Buzz") that I really took to the anesthesia and wham! I was out and never even knew what was happening until the nice nurse was shaking me awake. So, easy peasy.
It not dreadful, embarrassing or painful. (The most uncomfortable part is the air in the stomach and that is easily (pooooot) remedied). LOL. So, when you hit 50, the age of "rectal research" don't put it off. Get your screening. We've made great strides in getting women to do mamo's. We need to do the same for all genders in colon screenings.
Colo-rectal Cancer is the #2 cancer killer. Screening and early detection save lives. After it was all said and done yesterday, I looked at my husband and shook my head...if only my Mom had had it done when she should have. If she had, she would be here today.
Yep, I'm the Colonoscopy Poster Gurl today. And the really, woozy, anesthesia wimp, apparently. So I'm headed back to couch.
My only disappointment in the whole thing, they did not do the tummy tuck while they where there. I did ask for it.
Happy (woozy) Sat.

SO glad you did well -- Hope you have a great weekend -- Blessings--Kathy - ga ♥

So glad you got this done and so glad it went well. My husband has his coming up. As I think we've talked, we lost his dad almost 2 years ago - if he would've had this done 8 years before he'd be alive today. So bravo and well done! Now, I have to get off my, dare I say it, rumpus and get all of my "things" checked - I'm long overdue. You gave me the kick in the, here it goes again, appropriate behind to call and make some appointments, you poster girl you! Thanks for sharing, really!

Yay! So glad it went better than expected and that you didn't lose your funny bone during the procedure. Really, though, can you honestly compare the procedure to a piece of cake? Cuz I really like cake. And, you really aren't 50, are you? - Angela

LoL...hilarious account of your exam. I had both ends done at the same time and it was not bad at all. Interestingly enough....the doctors name was Pupi...which is pronounced "Poopie". What are the chances of that happening?????

oh my. I could have been spared a few of the details...:p I am glad you got it done and that all was good...a favorite saying about polyps comes to mind, but I am resisting :)

Good for you. The prep gets easier all the time and everyone should do this. Jeff had colon cancer two years ago and will be scoped forevermore. Had he had one done sooner it would never have developed into cancer and he wouldn't have need surgery. So...you go girl!

Good girl! Oh, the things we have to do once we become grown-ups!!

Yay for the poster gurl!!! You are so awesome for posting about your experience, and making it real and unscary for us all. It is such an important tool for doctors to keep us healthy. Love you to pieces and hip hip hooray for you!!!
