Seems to be the cause of my ugly, awful, attitude today. Mostly likely though, hormones. Or lack thereof. Sheesh. Who knows. Either way, was supposed to go hang with Sis and do a little crafting down at our LSS. But given the ugliness of my mood, opted to stay home and NOT infect others. Sorry, Sis. Please forgive?
Working, working, working. My little pile of books is slowly growing.
Which is good. Cause i need to get this order finished and out the door.
Thought I would take a few minutes to show you how this one finished up.
It's not where I wanted it to be. In terms of how I wanted it to look (read "layers, lots of layers"). But oh well. Tomorrow is another day, as Scarlett used to say. And seeing as how I've got 5 more to go, well always room for practice. I did add a little glitter to the front. And I loved Dayna's idea of this being a journal (rather than a photo album). And as I worked, I really kept seeing it being used that way. Thanks Dayna, I love the idea. (And she has a great post today, go check her out). And yes, as soon as I get these all done for this particular client, I will try and make some more to put out on my Etsy. I really enjoyed these colors and use of vintage images in this one.
But see? Needed more layers. That's one of the things I love about Dee Dee's work. Her pages always have depth and layers. Am such a huge fan of her work. Everything she does is lovely. To me, my pages always feel "wanting". I know, the grass is always greener. But, still.
Lots of room for writing though. And I do love to incorporate lots of pockets and half pages and peekie holes. But I did not put peekie holes in this one.
I guess the mix of blues and pink is a little jarring. Or baby inspiring. LOL. And I think I must be the last person on the planet to discover inks. Not that I have not had them. Yep. I have. They've sat on my desk now for a year and a half or so. I've looked at em. Circled em. Like the cat will sometimes circle her dinner bowl. And am just now playing with em. I think with time and practice...I will love them. But for now, getting the softness that I desire is a bit tricky.
Well, that's the last page of my little book. Thanks for looking. And hope yours is a great Wednesday. Hopefully, for me, tomorrow will be a "happier" day. Not only in terms of completing this job, but in attitude!
Oopsie! Edited to add this page:
And to say for those that are interested, Paper Cowgirl (blog) will be updated again today with another great teacher and project.
